2-Way Stop

2-Way Stop

Begin braking as you approach a stop sign. Come to a full stop and look carefully at the cross street.

You must give the right of way to vehicles and pedestrians on the cross street. Make sure that any crossing vehicles (especially those coming from your right) have completely cleared the intersection. Pulling out early to get the jump may cause a crash if the crossing vehicle decides to make a sudden left turn without signaling.

Look left and right for oncoming traffic before you cross; remember that they do not have to stop. Wait until you have plenty of time to proceed.
